1800nodrugs.com

This neat thing is a bit different than the sites I usually describe, but I can’t think of anything much neater than getting help when you need it. Can you? If you need drug rehab, 1800nodrugs.com is a great resource for you. They provide referrals to rehab programs that are tailored to your unique needs. The call is free, and so is the service.

They also offer an online drug rehab assessment as well as a information on financing treatment. And if you just have some questions, you’ll find pages on several specific drugs. The links to those are in the lower right sidebar.

Studio RTA Furniture

Isn’t this a neat desk set-up? It’s made by Studio RTA Furniture. I found a bunch of other neat furniture there as well, but I’ve been envying a corner desk set up for awhile, so that’s what I am showing you. The pieces are sleek and modern, so check them out and let me know what your favorite piece is.

Brooks Institute of Photography

Today’s neat thing is a photo school. Brooks offers several degrees in the photography field, and you can apply online. Go check out the gallery for some great shots! It will surely inspire you. The underwater photography classes look awesome!! It’s a hands-on class with most of the instructional time spent at Santa Barbara Channel Islands National Marine Sanctuary

I only wish they had some sort of correspondence program. I just can’t pull up and go to California for several years. Maybe in a couple of decades, eh?

Gimmee, Gimmee, Gimmee

05/03/2007

I saw a site today that makes the neatest little gimmees. I’m talking about the stuff you get at trade shows or as gift from companies, like calendars, pens, magnets and such. These promotional products are great for getting your name in front of people and keeping it there. In my neighborhood, the Vo-Pak guy comes around in December every year with a wall calendar. See, they have a huge pipe-line out back, and they are required to come let us know about it. They aren’t required to give us a freebie, but since I get a calendar, I’m happy to open the door and talk to the man for a few minutes instead of being aggravated by “another disruption”.

How cool would it be for a blogger (like me) to give away mouse pads with my logo on them?? That would remind people to come read my sites everyday. Hehehe. See, there’s a motive behind everything!

How Stuff Works

Here is a page for the info geek in all of us. How Stuff Works has information on just about everything. Grab a lab coat and check it out! The write-ups here are clear and easy to understand, and the search bar at the top makes it easy to find whatever you are looking for. Of course, you can also just browse the site using the menu in the sidebar. That’s what a true information junkie *cough* me *cough* would do.

There’s more than enough here to keep you busy for a week!

Blogrolling

05/01/2007

Neat way to handle your, umm, blogroll. You enter the sites you want listed, and Blogrolling spits out a tiny little javascript to place in your sidebar. This is really handy for group blogrolls, because when the owner updates it, it updates for everyone. There’s a caution with this though: if you are using blogrolls to give backlinks, google does not see the links for PR purposes. If you want to give a site google juice, you will still need to hard code the link.
